Welcome to the Botnia Tourist Association
 
Botnia tourist was founded 30 years ago to serve as a regional marketing organisation for the Province of Vaasa. The former province of Vaasa is nowadays divided into three parts: The regions of South Ostrobothnia, Cental Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. Today the organisation has 18 member municipalities and cities, and about 50 member enterprices from the region.
 
Stratetic goals
•Strengthen collaboration of the province of Ostrobothnia.
•Be the leading marketing organisation in the region.
•Strengthen collaboration and make new distribution channels to member enterprices.
•Coordinate and develop the tourism branch of Ostrobothnia.
 
Marketing
 
Every year we make a customer and product dircted marketing plan with a long-term goal. Our most  important market areas are Finland, the Nordic countries, Russia and part of Europe.
Our most important customer groups are in Finland families and culture tourists, and from abroad people who have same interests.
MATKA - The Finnish International Travel Fair - is the biggest Travel Fair in Scandinavia. It is held in January every year in Helsinki. The Travel Fair is one of the most important marketing actions of Botnia Tourist office together with partners and members.
 
The most used marketing tools
•Pohjanmaan kautta - Holiday in Ostrobothnia brochure - which are shipped all over Finland and abroad.

•Business-to-business marketing.
•Fairs and workshops in Finland, of which MATKA - The Finnish International Travel Fair - is the most important.
•Cooperation with the FinWest campaigns, and the Finnish Tourist Board (MEK) for summer tourism campaigns. Also important marketing tool is the international FInland-portal www.visitfinland.com.
